New director hired for PWCB

Brock Duncan, band director for Benson Public Schools has been hired to direct the Prairie Winds Concert Band this fall and spring.

New director of the PWCB community band in Willmar, MN

is currently in his 22nd year as the band director at Benson High School. Mr. Duncan’s duties include directing three concert bands, two jazz bands, percussion ensemble and teaching individual lessons. In addition, Mr. Duncan spends his summers directing the Benson High School Marching Band.

Duncan is a member and conductor of the Prairie Winds Concert Band, a community band based in Willmar, MN.

Duncan is a graduate of Apple Valley High School and St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He is and active adjudicator and is a member of MBDA, Phi Betu Mu, and MMEA where has served as a region representative and All-State trombone and low brass section coach.

Brock and his wife Anne live in Benson and have three children.

Summer Concerts in the Park start Wed June 6, 2012

Our summer concerts in Rice Park start Wednesday June 6, 2012 and continue for the next 3 Wednesdays. At 7pm each Wednesday we will have guest artists. The band concert will start at 7:30.

FREE Popcorn by Walts and FREE water by Willmar Water and Spa. We’re grateful for funding from the West Central Tribune and Heritage Bank.

July 4th our band will join with the new London/Spicer Community Band for a concert in Spicer.
